New Zealand – An Adventurers Paradise
New Zealand has been on my bucket list for a long time and this trip was nothing more then chance that I would find myself leading a trip to New Zealand for Indian Valley Scuba. A last minute change at the shop resulted in the need for a new trip leader with cold water diving experience, and I just happen to fit that role. With the trip departing just after My return from a trip to Florida I didn’t have much time for the idea of going to New Zealand to set in before I was sitting on the plane heading halfway around the world.

14 NOAA National Marine Sanctuary
In addition to the 58 National Parks found with in the United States, NOAA has set aside 14 locations as National Marine Sanctuaries. These 14 locations encompass more then 150,000 square miles of protected marine environments.
The program began in 1975 with the protection of the waters around the USS Monitor, one of the most important Civil War ironclad shipwrecks from potential salvage.
Graveyards of the Atlantic
The waters off North Carolina’s Outer Banks entomb thousands of vessels and countless mariners who lost a desperate struggle against the forces of war, piracy and nature. The Graveyard of the Atlantic, with one of the highest densities of shipwrecks in the world, holds some of America’s most important maritime history. With over 1,000 known wrecks in the area, this is a wreck divers dream.
58 US National Parks
The United States of America features 58 National Parks across 27 states, covering more then 51,000,000 acres of land. The National Park system was introduced in 1872 by President Ulysses S. Grant with the opening of Yellowstone. These national parks provide for protected areas that represent some of best natural treasures found in the United States.
